For too long, my soul has never caught up
to where my body stands.
I wonder where it remains.
Did I leave it or did it simply decided to stay in the past.
Were you still at the turn of the greased up stairs, looking out the window, watching your neighbor coming home?
Or were you there at that bench in the high school canteen. That tragic wooden bench, where you cried and cried.
Were you standing on the 14th floor, wondering when the snow storm would take you to the center of the white spiral? You wished to be taken. You were afraid to jump.
Wherever you were, you are,
I hope and pray and beg and yearn for you to return to this hallow body, bleeding heart and a burning desire to live with all that she contains and carries.
